Vacancy 057/2019: Kaimahi (Support Workers) Family Start - Whangarei (1.0FTE)
Family Start is one of the innovative programmes that is aimed at parents. We are looking for Kaimahi (Support Workers) to assist families/whanau with the greatest needs in their home environment to ensure that their children have the best possible start in life. The ideal applicant will have an understanding of the critical importance of educating parent/caregivers on babies growth and development, ages and stages and windows of opportunity.
Vacancy 058/2019: Kaimahi (Support Worker) Family Centered Direct Service - Whangarei (1.0FTE)
The successful applicant will direct services to families that will help restore safety and wellbeing/mauri ora where family violence has occurred. The successful applicant will need to deliver a one on one Family Violence program in the home with families/whanau, support families/whanau to access the additional services they need and draw on their wider whanau and community to achieve longer-term change.
Vacancy 059/2019: Lead Professional, Childrens Team - Whangarei (1.0FTE)
This role involves working with families/whanau who have experienced family violence, helping whanau to engage with appropriate services and to support whanau with goal planning to achieve their goals. Having experience in facilitating meetings with people and providing leadership through example, competency and effective role modeling would be an advantage.

The ideal applicants for any of these three roles will have these qualities:
- Previous experience in a social worker or early childhood educator role.
- Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification or a professional equivalent
- Familiarity with the educational / schools / health and social sector.
- Robust relationships and networks in the community and an ability to build rapport and relationships.
- A well-developed risk management capability.
- Sound knowledge of indicators of child abuse, domestic violence, mental health and alcohol and other drugs abuse.
The proposed salary range for these roles is between $40k and $50k (dependent on skill, experience and qualifications).
