Tairua Surf Life Saving Club (TSLSC) love being part of the Tairua community; and, thankfully locals and holiday makers alike have made us feel welcome over the many, many years that we have been part of the town.

Every year in every way, we grow that little bit further as a club.  The next year sees great plans ahead, as we build new club rooms and extend our efforts to attract, retain and develop lifeguards to keep our beach safe from drownings and injuries.

Whilst we have a dedicated team of volunteer committee members, parent helpers and lifeguards, with our ambitions we really need an extra pair of hands in our team.

We are seeking a locally based Club Administrator who thrives on organising, getting things done and mastering the admin. As an experienced administrator, you will be assisting and supporting the committee with:

  • Coordinating the summer programme of events (Junior Surf Programme and Saturday Surf Programme) from organising training days through to recruiting lifeguards
  • Helping with fundraising efforts and assisting with funding applications
  • Supporting marketing activities
  • Being our person on the ground as we build our new club house

Rest assured, you will be guided and supported all the way ? we just need to know that very little fazes you on the administration front; and that you can work within agreed timelines with a cool head. With your proactive nature and ease at using your initiative; your ability to work independently and without supervision; yet, very much being part of a team ? you will own this newly created role, helping us get even closer to the Tairua community whilst supporting us to realise our vision as a club.

The role will be 20 hours a week on average across the year ? less during winter months and higher during the summer months when our programmes are in full flow.

If you are thinking ?this role is for me? or ?I know just the person for this role? ? please reach out to Sharn, Club Secretary for an informal chat or a copy of the position description on 027 226 8104; and/or email Sharn at [email protected] [link removed]

Deadline for applications 22 October 2020 with the successful candidate starting as soon as possible.
