This is a part-time, fixed term role 15-30 hours per week with some flexibility in work hours, to cover maternity leave (03/02/2017 to 21/07/2017).  The start date would be 16 January 2017 to finish on 11 August 2017.  The position requires a self-motivated, detail focused, mature natured person to join our busy bookkeeping/tax agency team. You will be a part of a small two/three person team who work collaboratively on in-house and on-site projects.

This is a varied role where tasks will include:

  • General office duties
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Completing and Filing GST Returns
  • Collating timesheets and Payroll processing (IMS Payroll)
  • Annual End of Year Accounts
  • Completing and Filing Tax Returns IR3, 4, 6, 7 & 10

 

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Some previous experience working in an Accounts/Accounting environment
  • Reckon (Quick Books) accounting package knowledge an advantage
  • An innovative thinker who can work individually and/or as part of a team
  • Common sense, an excellent work ethic, trustworthy and reliable
  • A methodical approach and attention to detail (especially with numbers) is absolutely imperative
  • The ability to multitask, meet deadlines in an organised manner, remain calm and have a problem solving attitude
  • Timely and accurate processing and data entry skills
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal is an absolute must
  • Proficient experience with excel spreadsheets
  • A familiarity with IMS Payroll package would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of accounting practices and the Holidays Act essential
  • Interest in the IT industry could be beneficial
     

Bookkeeping Specialty Services was established in February 1999 and is a steadily growing business that offers service to varying clients from annual tax returns to complete A-Z office requirements for small to medium businesses.  You will be working with a friendly, small group within the office and servicing clients with varying businesses ranging from Engineers to Art Gallery's, therefore a thick skin and good sense of humour is a must!  You will be working on your own for a majority of the time. The more you are prepared to put into this position, the more you will get out of it.
