This position is responsible for the operation of trade finance transactions of the bank and daily transactional jobs for trade finance clients of the bank.

As an Assistant Trade Finance Manager you are required:

  1. All operational work relating to the conduct, maintenance and development of the trade finance portfolio at BOC NZ. This would include but not be limited to issuance of Letters of Credit, issuance of bank guarantees, advising of LCs, confirmations of LCs, follow up for receipt of charges, discounting of bills under LC or otherwise.
  2. All work relating to remittance of funds, preparation of SWIFT messages, interaction with other corresponding banks
  3. Monitoring of due dates in respect of all trade transactions including LC bill payments and follow up to ensure receipt of funds.
  4. All operational work relating to the handling of receivables purchase business of the bank, including LC documents checking, correspondence, follow up etc.  
  5. To approve all Trade related transactions
  6. Responsible for conducting AML checks on trade finance customers/remittances including KYC
  7. To arrange for compliance of RBNZ and BOC head office directives, notices, circulars, guidance and provisions of Credit Policy, as modified from time to time, in sanction notes put up as well as in day to day operations and in the required reporting to be made


Who we are looking for:

  1. At least 1 years working experience in banking industry
  2. Preferable: CDCS certified but not necessary
  3. Detail-oriented
  4. Good communication skill is required to interact with marketing
  5. Education: at least Bachelor, prefer to accounting or finance major
  6. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; Mandarin speaking will be an advantage.

This a permanent position with flexible working hours from 8:30 – 17:30 or 11:30 – 20:30. Sometimes you need to work late (e.g. 8pm) to communicate with China trade finance colleagues. Please think carefully before application.
