Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) delivers public health services on behalf of the three district health boards in the Auckland region. ARPHS works to improve the health of the people living in Auckland through health promotion, protection and prevention. We work in partnership with mana whenua, striving always to reduce health inequalities and to demonstrate our four values - integrity, action oriented, healthy relationships and diversity. 


The Business and Finance Manager, employed by Auckland DHB in Finance and, will partner with ARPHS, working alongside the General Manager, Managers and Programme Supervisors to deliver on four key functional areas: 

  • Developing & implementing overarching DHB Finance Strategy in ARPHS including adherence to overall DHB finance policies, processes and controls
  • Developing ARPHS annual budgets, aligning with overall DHB budgeting process and long term financial plans 
  • Financial monitoring and reporting, including financial risk identification/management
  • Business advice and support for ARPHS operations including developing business cases and investment proposals. 

This key position will also provide leadership and mentorship on operational finance and strategic business to staff working with the Auckland Regional Public Health Services. 


To be successful in this challenging and rewarding position you must have the ability to provide strategic management accounting and financial reporting, strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others at senior level. You will have a relevant tertiary qualification and be a CA/CPA. A background in the health sector will be a distinct advantage.
