About the role

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and monitoring of the accounts receivable function for the company interests in New Zealand.

Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Ensuring all revenues due for standard charges are invoiced accurately. Raising, issuing, and processing ad-hoc / manual invoices for non-standard charges and cost recoveries
  • Raising, issuing, and processing credit notes
  • Allocating and processing remittances received from customers. Following up with customers as necessary to obtain details of remittances or resolve any variances
  • Generating and issuing statements to customers on regular monthly basis as well as on request or on ad-hoc basis to facilitate collection of amounts due
  • Reviewing customer credit terms and managing set-up of new customers
  • Preparing reports to meet stakeholder needs and provide a view on receivables status - weekly and monthly as necessary

Skills / experience required:

  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in an Accounts Receivable role
  • NCEA Level 3 or equivalent with further qualifications well regarded, especially in Accounting
  • Working proficiency in accounting systems especially in the debtor functions. Experience with SAP and Cargowise would be an advantage
  • Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with people at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with large volumes of data with a strong attention to detail
  • Fast and accurate processing skills
  • Experience in shipping / logistics would be of benefit although not essential
