Intermediate/Senior BAS Accountant Exclusive role
Auckland Auckland New Zealand
Full Time

Auckland CBD location, Full-time role: flexible hours and part-time options also available, Will suit a solid compliance accountant able to work largely unsupervised...

You are an articulate business services accountant with a minimum of 3-4 years NZ experience in a CA firm. You are able to work autonomously, without the need for close supervision, but also know when/and are not afraid to ask for help, if necessary.

You have good working knowledge of MYOB AO (a must) and, ideally, are familiar with CCH work papers. You have good current knowledge and experience with NZ tax compliance and preparation of year-end accounts.

You are looking for a friendly, close-knit team environment that offers a degree of flexibility. Your preferred location is Auckland City and you are ready to start a new role in May or early June at the latest.

If all or most of the above describes you, this exclusive brand new role may be just perfect for you. Due to sustained growth and fast increasing demand for our client's services, this small practice requires the services of a talented senior accountant.

CA qualifications are not strictly required, as long as you have the required hands-on experience in all aspects of compliance accounting and tax. Previous exposure to Xero would be advantageous and ability to pick up new programmes and software packages and good general IT skills are essential.

This role will see you working directly with a broad range of clients, from small sole traders and property investors to large overseas business groups with annual turnover in excess of $40 million.

The firm's director takes pride in the use of modern technology and the paperless office and this environment is likely to appeal to a systems/IT savvy individual. Your ability to maintain tidy and easy to follow work papers will come handy in this role.

This is an Auckland City based role. You will be part of a team of 6 (including the managing directors and 2 part-time staff) working in a modern, open plan office. Previous IFRS experience would be considered advantageous, although is not a must for this role.

Current NZCA experience is essential although we are open to consider candidates that have been in a commercial role for up to a year following a minimum of 3-4 years solid BAS experience in a CA environment in New Zealand.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are very important for this role, just like your positive, can-do attitude. You will be happy to roll up your sleeves and get whatever is thrown your way done and move on to the next task at hand.

Our client is looking for a person that is not afraid to ask questions and open to and willing to learn new things on a daily basis. However, this is not a role where you expect to learn the basics, as you already have a solid grounding in financial accounting and tax compliance (GST, PAYE, FBT, Income Tax, etc.).

This is a permanent role and we are open to consider candidates looking for either a full-time or a part-time role, as long as they meet the above criteria. If your preference is to work part-time, our client can offer that but requires fixed hours per week (9am - 3pm) over 5 days per week.

This role is exclusive to SCI and is not advertised anywhere else.
