The Independent Forklift Company Limited has recently undergone a major organisational restructure. This has created an exciting opportunity to join our team. Established 20 years ago, we have a dominant market position in the South Island with world leading Materials Handling Equipment products and an enviable "who's who" client base.

Due to strong continued growth we are seeking a skilled Forklift Technician for our busy Timaru/South Canterbury operation. You will be working on a wide range of Materials Handling Equipment across a vast range of industries and be able to apply your skill and knowledge on our clients sites.
To be successful in the role you'll need to have the following talents, skills and knowledge.

  • You'll be experienced in fault finding, diagnosing, repairing and troubleshooting along with performing general and preventative maintenance.
  • Minimum trade certificate with at least 5 years' experience gained working in the light or heavy automotive, industrial equipment or heavy transport industry is essential. Whilst preferred, forklift experience is not necessary as specific forklift training will be provided as required. The important part is for you to have a broad range of transferable skills to bring to this role.
  • Clean full drivers licence is required and OSH forklift operators certificate with 'F' endorsement are preferred, but full training will be provided as required.
  • Take pride in your work and gain satisfaction from 'a job well done' and a mind-set of wanting to exceed our customer's expectations.
  • Complete job sheets correctly with attention to detail so we can turn them into an accurate invoice quickly.
  • Exceptional level of quality control with a keen eye for detail.
