Large multi-national organisation, Building materials manufacturing, Leadership role with high autonomy.

We are looking for someone who is a natural born leader with a real passion to excel. You must have a track record of Supply Chain Management within the manufacturing warehouse and logistics sector both locally and internationally.

In addition, your ability to drive innovation within operations - logistics and warehousing while contributing to the wider business strategy is essential. Exhibiting a strong commercial mindset, you will ensure that strategic planning and forward thinking combine to deliver operational improvements are executed.

Experience - Skills and Responsibilities include:
  • You will be representing the Supply Chain NZ Leadership Team
  • You will be tasked in Driving Warehousing & Distribution savings and performance
  • Provide strategic direction to the NZ leadership team on the day to day operations off the business
  • Strong focus on Health and Safety
  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to the NZ Supply Chain team.
  • People management experience
  • Significantly reduce costs by sourcing inputs at increasingly competitive arrangements and driving improved utilisation in the use of our inputs whilst maintaining highest levels of ethics and responsible sourcing practices.
  • Proactively identify Supply Chain improvement opportunities for the Penrose Manufacturing site
  • Must be able to engage across technical, commercial and legal discussions
  • Take a leadership role with the supply chain and warehousing team
  • Improve cost analysis and communicate with relevant stake holders
  • Actively research markets for products and services to be negotiated and establish category expertise which will underpin your credentials across negotiations.
  • Must have ability to create leverage via knowledge acquisition and insights during negotiation process
  • Structure agreements and formal contracts with key suppliers and service providers to deliver on necessary business outcomes.
  • Develop a sustainable sourcing strategy that meets the growth needs of the business.
  • Improve the reliability of supply and introducing risk mitigation measures by developing alternative sources of supply for all key materials
  • Lead improvements in the key area to meet cost, quality, efficiency and other KPI's
  • Bachelor's Degree in a commerce, finance, science, materials, engineering or related field preferred
  • Must demonstrate a mix of commercial acumen and technical competence.
  • Eight or more years of experience working as a key Supply Chain specialist.

  • Analytically minded, including ability to analyse and interpret data and to make judgement calls accordingly
  • Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, especially the ability to negotiate with all types of personalities
  • Highly driven, thirst for knowledge, enjoys actively researching markets
