We are looking for an experienced Sales Executive to lead our dynamic sales and event coordination team.

In addition to working out of exclusive venues throughout Auckland, we have access to some of the biggest events that New Zealand has to offer. From weddings to degustation menus to 3000 people we really do offer a varied and vibrant workplace.

This new opportunity reports directly to the General Manager; you will be tasked with:

  • Oversee direct reports, coaching and providing guidance as required to develop their capability
  • Develop and motivate the Sales team to create a team environment that encourages and rewards superior performance
  • Provide professional, advisory and management support to direct reports to assist in meeting strategic goals
  • Analyse weekly reports on sales activity, estimates sent, jobs confirmed, challenges and plans, to present to the General Manager
  • Actively generate and confirm new business through identifying and targeting new clients and markets, using a variety of sales techniques
  • Report regularly on sales activity and initiatives, including comprehensive sales plans, regular analysis of the competition and future market potential.
  • Generate a comprehensive sales strategy and maintenance programme
  • Sell venues, products and services to clients - and identify and convert all opportunities to up-sell to increase sales income
  • Strengthen existing client relationships through attentive and excellence in service to ensure repeat business
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers & internal team members
  • Undertake active sales drives for the venues in conjunction with marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Positively influence clients, and strengthen existing client relationships, with a focus to increase revenue and profitability

You will have:

  • Strong desire to lead and develop others
  • A passion for new business.
  • A strong sales background, with proven track record in sales and team leadership. 3 – 5 years' experience in a Sales / BDM role
  • Strong relationship building skills, ideally with experience in representing a hospitality company and dealing with industry peers
  • The ability to balance quality account management disciplines with the right level of new business hunting
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Strong attention to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Customer oriented, demonstrates professional and courteous service at all times
  • Proven ability in teamwork and communication
