The Building Officials Institute of New Zealand (BOINZ) is a membership based and member focused, not-for-profit charitable organisation. The Institute represents over 1200 members engaged in building control in both the public and private sectors.

A fabulous opportunity for an experienced events and/or marketing coordinator with second to none interpersonal skills has arisen to join this high performing team.

You will be responsible for planning, organising and promoting the Institute's Annual Conference attended by 300 plus delegates and the Annual Senior Building Controls Officials Forum with approximately 130+ attendees.

You will also take responsibility for the quarterly publication of their magazine, member E-newsletters, website management as well as the creation and oversight of all other marketing and communications to members and stakeholders.

Due to the size of the team you will gain broad exposure across all areas of the business and will enjoy huge variety in the role. To get the most out of it you will be passionate about events, proactive, communicative and highly organised. You will also have tons of energy and will genuinely enjoy working with others to achieve your objectives.

Person Profile:

  • Previous events coordination and marketing experience
  • First class organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Outstanding relationship building skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels, both internally and externally
  • An ability to promote and sell the Institute and its services
  • Very highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrates a high level of maturity, integrity and confidentiality
  • Personable and people focused with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • The ability to self-manage and work under pressure at busy times
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humour and a great attitude
