Taylor Pass honey is sought after in New Zealand, Europe and Asia, and now it is time to share it with the rest of the world.

This rare and exciting opportunity is available for a talented and experienced Export Sales Manager, who will take ownership of driving sales growth across key international regions, identifying and developing new export markets and partners and developing the brand on an international level.

With a focus on Asian and North American markets, we are looking for the Export Sales Manager to:

  • Identify opportunities to create new business in your region, (new distributors or direct clients)
  • Travel to target markets several times a year
  • Develop brand and product awareness across key international Distributors, their teams and to direct Retail clients
  • Managing the ongoing relationships with Distributors and direct Retail clients
  • Plan and implement export strategy and activities
  • Negotiating agreements, requirements, pricing, specific trading terms with new Distributors and Retailers
  • Be a brand ambassador, introducing new products, coordinating launch events, training sales staff
  • Monitor, record, analyse and report on activities, trends, competitor activity and implement strategy to increase market share
  • Liaising with other departments of the business, on all activities influenced by export activities.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Manage language and communications and translation needs to enable effective relations

Qualifications desired: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce or similar discipline

Location: Auckland or Blenheim

Experience, Skills and Attributes desired:

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role
  • Previous experience in developing export business, with an emphasis on Asian or North American markets
  • Strong knowledge of export operations
  • Exposure to Grocery, FMCG or Health food sector (preferred)
  • Experience in engaging with distributors and working within a distributor model
  • Previous brand development experience
  • Strong analytical skills, highly numerate and commercial savvy
  • Advanced negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills across diverse cultures
  • Strong business reporting skills
  • Superior presentation skills coupled with excellent listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Ability to travel internationally regularly ( 10 - 15+ weeks a year)
