Are you passionate about AV and looking for a role to cultivate that passion into a career? AVA Pacific are looking for a South Island Area Sales Manager to continue the growth and development of our southern dealer base.

We are looking for someone based in the South Island who will be supported by our Auckland based team. You'll be working with our South Island dealer network and be responsible for understanding our dealer's needs, designing solutions and closing deals. In addition you will be looking for new opportunities and increasing our dealer network within the South Island.

So what will you be doing?

  • Communicating & regularly visiting with both prospective and existing customers to generate sales opportunities
  • Supporting customers with product, technical, design and sales enquiries
  • Building portfolios of prospective and existing customers to provide insight into the regional market
  • Reporting regularly on market and sales activity
  • Organising events and training workshops
  • Evaluating customer's performances and setting KPI's
  • Identifying and addressing potential problems and providing resolution strategies
  • Encourage & facilitate growth and development of customers and their staff
  • Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual sales
  • Build a network of influencer relationships to promote business
  • Learn and develop your technology understanding and skillset

So who are you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about technology and AV, who is able to connect with people so they trust your recommendations. In the technology industry you must be a quick learner as you will be expected to know and understand all of our products and how they work and interact. We're happy to provide training to develop the right person, however you need to tick some of the list below.

  • You have the ability to learn about new products and processes
  • You are skilled in Windows & Microsoft Office (in particular Excel and Word)
  • You have excellent communication skills and confident speaking in public and to small groups
  • You enjoy talking with people and translating their dreams into great design solutions
  • You are able to provide customer quotes that are well presented
  • You are able to regularly travel nationwide
  • You have at least 2 years proven sales experience in a sales role (sales representative, sales manager or similar)
  • Home automation/AV experience preferred but not essential
  • You are punctual and are able to self manage
  • You have the ability to read and generate reports and market analyses
  • Must be able to work with all levels of a client's business from technicians t owners/Directors
