Maintenance Supervisor - Dargaville

Our nationwide business is a successful leader in the New Zealand primary industries sector and they are looking for their next Maintenance Supervisor with a flexible attitude towards the company’s commercial needs to join their team. This rewarding role will have you supervising engineering team members; ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical services on plant; co-ordinating resource allocation; monitoring cost control; and promoting a Health & Safety culture in the workplace. Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving a continuous improvement culture; maximising mechanical efficiency; minimising downtime; and co-ordinating with other departments to ensure ultimate smooth operation across the entire plant.

This position is imperative for ensuring the sound operation and co-ordination of services on site including the supervision of permanent staff and contractors; and managing the on-going development of energy conservation strategies. You will be responsible for the ongoing reliability of services such as; boilers, steam reticulation, ammonia refrigeration, effluent treatment and disposal, air conditioning; and compressed air equipment. You will have previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position; a keen eye for fault finding and be able to communicate the importance of urgency in regards to production breakdowns.

You will be rewarded with a Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm working week, an attractive salary package; and be able to pass a full medical, drug & alcohol screen prior to employment.

To be successful in this role you must have the following:
• Level 4 Trade Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or above
• At least 2-5 years in a leadership position in a fixed plant environment
• Demonstrate excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills
• A high standard of written and spoken English
• Computer literacy - Microsoft Office suite and maintenance data bases
• Understanding of legal and legislative compliance requirements
