The Role:

We have an opportunity for an Advisor with 2-3 years' experience who has a background in portfolio, programme or project management. Ideally, this would include public sector experience. This role will put your project management capabilities to good use as you will be working in a team that is responsible for the Crown's investments and this will give you exposure to significant Government investments, including the team's involvement across 688 significant projects delivered by 53 agencies. Therefore you will be working right across the government on these various projects and you will be responsible for bringing it all together.

  • Liaise, monitor, review and provide analysis on a group of the government's major projects
  • Coordinate reporting processes for Major Projects Reporting, and contribute to wider project portfolio analysis and reporting
  • Become a key part of our team, helping us lift performance of the State Services in delivering value from change investments.

About You:

You're an entry level to intermediate project professional and we are interested in your previous project experience and your understanding and application of project practices and methodologies.

  • Exceptional administrative, coordination and workflow management skills
  • Advanced reporting writing skills with a strong interest in undertaking reporting analysis
  • Highly developed organisational skills with a flair in the compilation and the coordination of documents and data
  • A strong customer focus with excellent relationship management skills
  • Critical thinking skills and an understanding of how projects and programmes work
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and act with a high level of integrity, trust and composure
  • Ideally possess a professional certification (e.g. PRINCE 2, PMI, MSP or MoP)

Who We Are:

Within the Treasury, the Investment Management and Asset Performance (IMAP) team aims to build a high-performing government investment management system through policy, practice and quality relationships. The team has an overview of the significant projects and programmes the government undertakes, with a focus on the highest risk, greatest value projects - aiding these projects to deliver on their promised benefits. The team also provides visibility over the portfolio of projects to stakeholders.
