Enthusiastic Web Editor with advanced HTML/CSS skills & good people skills to prepare & publish complex web content for the central agencies websites.

The Web Editor position is a specialist role focused on preparing and publishing HTML content requiring sophisticated CSS styling for websites supported by the Central Agency Shared Services (CASS). This role would suit a highly skilled web professional who has developed senior skills after several years of experience working in an online editorial and content management role.

This role sits within the Web and Publishing team of CASS - a unit of the Treasury that supports the three central agencies: The Treasury, State Services Commission and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

A key focus of this role is working with the Treasury teams to prepare Budget updates for the Treasury and Budget website (yearly from late May). During the year, you will contribute to the commissioning, preparing and publishing of content in various formats across diverse sites and CMS.

  • Gain exposure to a range of content management systems, including SharePoint, Drupal and Plone.
  • Demonstrate your aptitude for coaching and upskilling others

Your technical skills and ability to grasp new concepts and software quickly will also be central to this role. Your knowledge and expertise will ideally be underpinned by tertiary study in either web design, web development or equivalent experience.

We are interested in you because you have:

  • In-depth knowledge in HTML, CSS, and Content Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and best practice mark-up of HTML content for accessibility.
  • A proven ability to deliver quality HTML and digital content, especially under deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel (we use it for tracking systems and its text manipulation formulas) and MS Word.
  • A proactive and self-led style with a team player attitude
  • An ability to operate with autonomy and a desire to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Some familiarity with Javascript would be advantageous
