Haka Educational Tours are searching for a Tour Account Manager to join our team based in the head office in Newmarket, Auckland.

Haka Educational Tours deliver tours and camps for school and university groups. Our aim is to provide inspirational tours that motivate students in every aspect of learning by offering unique, engaging and practical experiences in New Zealand and worldwide.

We are now looking for a passionate Tour Account Manager to join the Educational team.

The role will encompass a wide range of tasks summarised as follows:

  • Providing outstanding customer service through excellent communication from enquiry through to the delivery of the tour as the direct point of contact for clients
  • Managing a portfolio of key accounts to include school and universities based in New Zealand and globally. You will be communicating with teachers and professors that lead the educational tours
  • Produce bespoke itineraries tailored to each enquiry across a range of destination and subject areas. You role is create and deliver these once in a lifetime experiences for students across the globe!
  • Operations: Working with our Tour Coordinators you will oversee the operations to include reservations and administration to ensure successful delivery of each tour
  • Sales through service - you role may involve hosting an inspection tour to Hawaii or delivering an information presentation evening to students and parents for a prospective or current tour - we support our clients every step of the way
  • Business development: Maintain existing global relationships and develop new client accounts. Ensure excellent relationships are built and maintained with service a priority, leading to client loyalty and retention
  • Marketing: Support the marketing and management team as required through coordinating and developing the next innovative campaign and ensure sales targets are achieved 


We are looking for someone super special to join our dream team with the following attributes:


  • Previous sales/account management experience of 2+ years
  • Exceptional organisational skills to include time and workload management
  • A sociable and open attitude – our customers are from all over the globe
  • An energetic, confident and positive approach to new and/or challenging tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Ability to prioritise workload whilst maintaining a flexible and proactive approach to responsibilities, whether working autonomously or as part of a team
  • A creative mind and a genuine interest in our products and packages, the tourism industry – ideally student/youth and education 
  • Solid Microsoft Office computing skills – especially Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint


  • Geographical knowledge and travel experience to the destinations we have on offer to include New Zealand, North America, Asia, Europe and beyond!
  • Experience working with computer systems – Xero Accounting, Salesforce CRM
  • Relevant travel industry qualification
  • Experience in a customer-service focused role
