Southfuels is a privately owned New Zealand company specialising in the supply of bulk fuel and lubricants to the primary market. The business operates throughout the country with account management and operational staff located from Invercargill to Whangerei.

Southfuels are proud to have a strong community focus with a number of exclusive programmes and sponsorships in place to actively support the communities that we operate in, including our Fuel for Schools sponsorship programme and involvement with New Zealand Young Farmers and their TeenAg programme.

Through growth within this territory we now an exciting opportunity for a high calibre person to join our team as the new Marlborough based Account Manager. You will become part of the Upper South Island regional team, working closely with other Account Managers, Drivers and report to the local Regional Manager.  

Working across multiple primary sector segments including but not limited to wineries, commercial markets plus the farming and fishing industries.  Your background could include experience in these industries. Of real importance is your motivation to work with and build strong relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities.

You will also need to be able to work autonomously in a rural environment. The role requires regular travel throughout the region, therefore we are flexible about your location within Marlborough. The expectation is for the successful person to work from a home base.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a sales or account management role.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills ? the ability to ask relevant questions, be a good listener be able to adapt the discussion accordingly.
  • Proven success at meeting sales and service targets.
  • The ability to work autonomously ? must be a motivated self-starter and target-driven achiever.
  • Experience and a genuine interest in the farming, agricultural, or transport sectors - would be advantageous.
  • Good written and numerical literacy skills. 
  • Intermediate level computer skills, familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems.
