My client, an aggressively growing, innovative technology business require the services of a Management Accountant to take ownership of the full financial & management reporting process, as well as support a number of change & transformation initiatives.

Reporting in to the NZ Finance Manager this broad role will take full ownership for the end to end financial & performance reporting activity for 2 of the businesses largest subsidiaries.

Responsibilities include;

  • Preparation & presentation of the consolidated monthly management reporting pack.
  • Produce ad-hoc financial reporting & analysis as & when needed
  • Financial Reporting - Review & analyse month/year end reporting
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations - Review & clear reconciling items
  • Taxation - Review GST & FBT returns.
  • New product costing, revenue analysis & operational performance reporting.
  • Cash flow - Daily & weekly forecasting
  • Payroll review & reporting.
  • Responsible for driving internal business improvements & supporting ad hoc efficiency based projects
  • Assist with robust & thorough analysis of budget to actual; forecasting actual variances as required
  • Assist with the preparation of the ANZ budgets & forecasts
  • Maintain business KPI analyses

Qualifications & experience required;

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent (Big 5 preferred)
  • Initiative - self managed, able to act independently where circumstances dictate
  • High level of motivation & energy
  • Relevant tertiary degree / bachelors
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel user
  • ERP systems (SAP an advantage)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Passionate customer service orientation with extensive experience in managing multiple stakeholders

However, what is equally, if not even more important, are the interpersonal skills required;

  • Influencing skills to manage the expectations & demands of your stakeholders
  • Although, being able to hold them to account with your own expectations
  • The ability to explain detailed & complex financial information to non finance professionals
  • Initiative - self managed, able to act independently where circumstances dictate
  • Qualifications & experience required;
