Business critical, decision support role, Multinational FMCG business, South Auckland location.

Our client is a highly regarded manufacturing organisation with a reputation for excellence in the FMCG market. As the Operations Accountant, you will report through to the Operations Finance Manager, with input across multiple sites throughout New Zealand. The focus here is to support non-finance internal customers to better understand and control costs and to implement effective planning.

  • Financial analysis and reporting - plant / labour performance
  • KPI and business performance reporting
  • Cost monitoring and variance analysis
  • Monitoring and reporting of CAPEX
  • Product costings
  • Budgeting & forecasting
  • Ad hoc analysis and project work
  
This position is designed to support business decision making through the preparation, development and analysis of financial and non-financial information. You will be a self-starter, capable of working cross functionally, collaborating with multiple departments. As a proven analyst, you will be experienced working with and manipulating data, with the ability to derive insights and form recommendations. Naturally, you'll be comfortable on Excel (v look ups, pivot tables minimum), experienced utilising ERP systems.
 
This role focuses on examining all the operations inputs and balancing cost implications against commercial objectives. Tertiary qualified, CA/CPA membership or equivalent is preferred. The organisation is looking for someone who has a solid skill set as a base, ideally in cost accounting and business analysis and who can translate this knowledge into cost effective improvements. Ideally, you will have a background in a manufacturing context with a sound working knowledge of SAP. You may be on the upward curve of your career and fancy the challenge of stepping up to a more senior role in a global business.
