Commercial Manager, Work closely with GMs to maximise contract value and analyse costs, The business is a NZX listed manufacturer .


The Opportunity

Working closely with the Regional Management teams, you will be largely involved in providing commercial support, maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders, advising a number of operational businesses units on multi-million dollar contracts and transactions, supporting all commercial and operational to meet internal and client requirements.

The applicant will be a key figure in managing financials for a number of businesses within your designated region across Christchurch and Wellington, taking a lead in the end to end appraisal for planning and performance whilst maintaining the BAU management of the forecast: working closely with GMs to maximise contract value and analyse costs.

The Company

The business is a NZX listed manufacturer which operates across NZ across multiple region and sites.

With a change in structure at regional and group commercial management level, this opportunity will be based in Christchurch but you will work closely with businesses and production across the greater Wellington region.

Some travel (fully paid for and covered by the business) to Wellington will be required for the role as a result

The Role

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for leading team and ensuring the delivery of all accounting, reporting and commercial analysis duties in an accurate and timely manner.

Key duties include:

  • Monitoring actual spend against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, cost analysis and reporting
  • CAPEX proposals and investment appraisal
  • Contract And margin review
  • Liaising with JV partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Business cases

Your Profile

  • Ideal applicants will be qualified CA/CPA or equivalent with extensive experience of managing large to medium sized Finance and Admin teams ideally within a large or complex businesses
  • The role has no national remit so only local travel is required
  • Exposure to manufacturing or contracting is highly desirable as is prior exposure to WIP analysis/reporting of contracts and projects
  • Available in 2 weeks
