To state that this role is a career defining opportunity for the right person is an understatement - if you're an ambitious high achiever on a mission to deliver outstanding results, you absolutely must talk to me now. My client is looking for the right person to play a key part in their succession planning, into National Sales Management and even Country Management over time. So there is much more here in terms of opportunity than meets the eye!

A brief overview of key responsibilities are:

  • Drive profitable and sustainable growth through one of New Zealand's most recognised and dynamic retailers, via relationships with their most senior stakeholders and Category Managers 
  • Full P&L accountability for the account
  • Develop and implement a rolling 3+ year strategic account plan with structured quarterly reviews
  • Showcase sound planning skills to improve forecast accuracy and DIFOT
  • Demonstrate leadership by working closely with the Field Sales Manager and national team to deliver your strategic initiatives in-store and ensure execution excellence
  • Monitor promotional performance, maximise return on investment and manage rebate agreements, trading terms and regular reporting

In effect, you will be solely responsible for the success, growth and profitability of a critical account - this is a key role within my client's business in New Zealand, and your achievements will be very visible throughout the wider organisation. As such, we are looking for a heavy hitter!

In order to be considered for this opportunity you must meet ALL of the following requirements.

  • As a corporate organisation with stringent HR and recruitment requirements, a Business Degree qualification is absolutely essential
  • Proven major account management experience and a track record of quantifiable achievements are essential, along with both employer and key customer references
  • Excellent relationship development ability and robust experience in major account strategy and delivery
  • In-depth knowledge of, and current experience in, big box retail accounts is essential - whether it be FMCG, consumer goods, DIY, consumer electronics or similar 
  • A burning desire to join a business that has a specific progression and development plan in place for you specifically

On offer here is a generous salary package, designed to attract a Key Account Manager or Sales Manager currently working with a major retail account generating in excess of $10 million in sales per annum. This account is one of the 'big boys' and you need to demonstrate expertise in driving relationships and business growth at this level in order to be considered for this opportunity.
