FarmRight Limited is a growing farm investment management and consultancy company specialising in the dairy farming industry.  The national team currently manages over 60 farms on behalf of a range of investors (New Zealand Superannuation Fund, equity partnerships and corporates) and is involved in the management of 300 dairy farming staff.

Over the last five years FarmRight has experienced rapid growth and to ensure it continues to meet its commercial and strategic objectives, it now needs a talented and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join the team.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Executive Team and is actively involved in all strategic level decision making. With accountability to the Chief Executive in respect of supporting long-term sustainable and profitable business performance; the mandate of the Chief Financial Officer spans leadership and operation of the finance, risk management, technology and support functions.

As a member of the senior executive team; the Chief Financial Officer will;

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of commercially astute and innovative business plans and strategies;
  • Provide strong leadership to the team of direct reports, create engaged individuals and teams and drive results;
  • Actively manage the company's financial budget, reporting and accounting requirements;
  • Lead the preparation of all client financial reporting and management reporting;
  • Provide leadership and oversight of aspects of the technology and data functions;
  • Oversee the company's approach to risk management and ensure it is in a position to meet all of its regulatory and statutory obligations  

This key senior position would suit a highly skilled Chartered Accountant with:

  • Proven executive leadership experience within commercial organisations; ideally within the primary or related sectors;
  • The ability to work at a high strategic level and provide critical business advice to the CEO and/or Board but also work down in the detail as needs dictate;
  • Extensive experience delivering financial reports on a monthly basis, including to IFRS requirements;
  • Strong communication and people management skills; a motivating leader who is not afraid to roll his/her sleeves and get the job done alongside their team.
