South Island Territory Manager

Our client is a highly successful NZ Manufacturer and supplier of quality external cladding and flashing systems.

They are now looking for a Technical Account Manager located in Christchurch for the South Island region to enhance their reputation, increase sales opportunities and develop lasting relationships within the merchant, residential and architectural sectors.

This is an exciting time to join this business as they have developed some very exciting new products, resulting in huge benefits to the builder and something that offers you a clear advantage in the market place.

Out of town travel will be required from time to time and the company prefers in most cases a fly and drive rather than being on the road for long hours.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Driving sales growth through gaining specifications, working along side Volume Builders, merchant staff training, builders breakfasts, industry expo's and trade events.
  • Identify new opportunities with the current market sector and working closely with the R&D team
  • Maintaining a call cycle which ensures you are calling on key contacts.
  • Producing timely reports on regions activities.
  • Ensuring merchant stock levels are to acceptable to meet demand
  • Meeting and exceeding sale targets


  • Excellent Customer Relationship Management and Service
  • Diplomacy
  • Experience and proficiency in Account Management and Specification Sales
  • Problem Solving and technical acumen
  • A strong networker with an eye for opportunity.
  • A good communicator who is persuasive and resilient
  • Someone who understands specification selling and/or can demonstrate experience in working with Architects/Designers/Housing Co's
  • Ideally has building industry experience ? with building material knowledge if possible
  • Has local knowledge and networks.
  • Diligent, well organised and a good planner.


  • Previous experience working with project builders, tradespeople (commercial and local) and the housing and/or building industry
  • A trade background (e.g. Carpentry)
  • Able to provide hands on demonstrations
