In this new full-time permanent role, you will be responsible for processing accounts in support of the Company Accountant and for responding to general administrative needs as required. This will include:

  • Processing purchase orders for the Santa Fe group
  • Matching supplier invoices with purchase orders and preparing the required payment batches
  • Completing monthly supplier statement reconciliations and following up on any missing documentation
  • Weekly and month-end processing of sales invoices
  • Providing management with weekly and month-end aged receivable reports
  • Ensuring regular and timely follow up on overdue accounts
  • Verifying discrepancies and resolving customer queries which may result in processing customer refunds
  • Making daily deposits of cash and cheques at the bank
  • Completing petty cash reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end processing of all accounts
  • Managing the archiving of financial records and annual destruction of expired records
  • Assisting the team with a variety of other administrative tasks

Your success in this role will depend on:

  • Successful completion of a diploma in Business Administration or Accounting (or an equivalent combination of education or experience)
  • A minimum of three years' relevant work experience
  • Experience with accounting software or systems
  • A warm, friendly and helpful phone manner
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately
  • A systematic, methodical and orderly approach to tasks
  • Acceptance of new ideas and change initiatives
  • Your ability to adapt to the team and build on team spirit
  • An ability to learn quickly and respond to a variety of requirements, at times multi-tasking
  • Good computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office products, data base loading, Skype, email and internet
  • Strong keyboarding skills (touch typing preferred)
