This leads us to the current opportunity for a PayrollManagerto step in and monitor, manage and resolve all internal and external payroll functions for this Manukau based organisation that has approximately 2,000 staff and a 9 figure turnover.

A little about the role

As the Payroll Manageryou will be responsible for managing the entire payroll operation, supervising one other payroll staff member and ensuring that all payrolls (2,000) are processed by their due date and are compliant with the associated awards and employment contracts. This role will suit an individual who is big on the detail but equally loves the day-to-day interaction with peoplesomeone who is personable, diligent and driven. This is a complex role, which offers plenty of challenge with minimal data entry and, for the right person they are willing to engage on flexible hours as long as the work is completed to a high standard.

What you will be doing.

  • Supervising a Payroll team of 2
  • Processing approximately 4000 weekly andmonthly payroll including associated preparations required to ensure this happens smoothly.
  • Completing NOC forms, loading new starters and leave balances.
  • End of month processing, online banking and payroll reporting.
  • Completion of required forms: IRD, ACC etc.
  • Proving knowledgeable advice regarding payroll queries.

What we need from you

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.
  • Previous experience managing a small team or a high-volume sole charge role.
  • Proficient knowledge of Chris21 is a bonus
  • A professional approach with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
