DiggersNZ Limited is medium sizedexcavation company that is actively involved in the rebuild of Christchurch and development in Auckland. We provide a wide range of services for foundation excavations, driveways, retaining walls, demolition, transport, cartage and general excavation. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Accounts Administrator to become a central part of our busy administration team.

We are looking for someone who is on to it, is confident in their abilities and most importantly has a passion for accounts administration.

To be successful in the role of Accounts Administrator you must:

  • Have proven experience as an accounts administrator and have a tertiary qualification (preferably in accounting, business studies, human resources and/or health & safety).
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a mathematical mind and be able to work out complex account issues.
  • Have an attention to detail and strive for accuracy when completing everyday tasks.
  • Have the ability to prioritise, manage a busy work load and be capable to meet recurring monthly deadlines.
  • Be able to work well within a team and have a strong work ethic.
  • Be able to maintain a flexible approach to daily tasks.
  • Have advanced skills in Microsoft suite e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Have experience using Xero accounting software.

Day to day tasks will include but is not limited to:

  • Using accounting software (Xero) to maintain accounts. Including; payables, reconciliation, balance sheets, asset register, manual journals etc.
  • Providing Xero support to the administration team.
  • Assist with fleet management to ensure continued compliance.
  • Organise internal audits of gear and equipment.
  • Maintain insurance registers and lodge claims as required.
  • Complete general administration duties including; answering the phone, setting up and monitoring new internal and external accounts, banking, ordering supplies, assisting divisional managers etc.
  • Providing support to the HR/ Health & Safety Manager as required.
