Accounts Assistant, Location - West of the City, Enjoy a great company culture.

The Opportunity
As the Accounts Assistant, you will be based in their Christchurch office, you will be working closely with the management team to ensure that the accounts functions are managed in an efficient and timely manner.
The role will also include regular contact and liaison with the company Director(s) and offers you a great chance to grow your commercial understanding of how a medium sized business operates day to day.
This role will continue to develop in complexity over time, giving you the chance to enhance your technical skills whilst taking on more responsibility. The company prides itself on looking after employees and is committed to providing staff with a great work environment.

The Company
This long established construction business is known for providing a range of quality services to clients across residential, commercial and civil projects with operations across the North & South Island.

The Role
The scope of this role will increase over time and your duties will include but not be limited to;
  • Daily bank reconciliations and Payment runs
  • Creditor invoice entry and monthly creditor statement reconciliation
  • Liaise with operational staff and customers to ensure that all information required and invoices have been received
  • Statutory returns, GST & FBT
  • Assisting with the month end accounting as required

Your Profile
  • 3+ years working as an Accounts Assistant or similar
  • Strong systems experience including QuickBooks, MS Office and Xero
  • Experience working in the construction sector or similar
  • Be an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Have the ability to add value to the team culture and work individually as required
