About the role

As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Partnering with key managers and internal stakeholders to support the achievement of key strategic priorities and business plans
  • Providing high quality generalist HR services to a portfolio of service delivery managers/teams
  • Actively contributing to or leading on key HR initiatives that align with the vision, values and strategic priorities of the organisation and People and Development team
  • Effectively supporting, coaching and guiding managers on ER and people management issues. Reporting to our Human Resources Manager of People and Development, you will also support initiatives in the performance management, remuneration, ER and employee engagement portfolios, ensuring that our practice and processes reflect our kaupapa, represent best practice and are accessible and transparent to all stakeholders.

You will also have the following:

  • Ideally three to five years relevant HR experience, including experience working in a HR generalist or business partnering role
  • A relevant tertiary level qualification e.g. in HR management, business studies, industrial relations, psychology, or commensurate relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of NZ employment legislation
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
  • Demonstrated coaching and facilitation skills
  • Flexibility and a willingness to travel regularly within the Midland region / to Auckland
  • Current driver's licence
  • In addition, knowledge of Te Reo and /or Maori tikanga, and prior work experience in Social Services, Housing or the Not for Profit sector would be a real advantage
