Wanaka Physiotherapy

Wanaka Physiotherapy is a busy practice in the Wanaka Lakes Health Centre with 12 to 16 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. We are open 7 days a week in the winter and 6 for the rest of the year.

Our patients are from all walks of life from high performance athletes to the weekend warrior as well as people of all ages.

The role will be for 30 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday with weekend work during the ski season.

Shifts will be between 8am and 8pm in the winter and 8am to 7pm during the rest of the year.

Start date early to mid-February 2018

The role entails:

  • Checking patients in and out
  • Responding to phone calls, emails and faxes
  • Booking patients in
  • Taking payment
  • Following up with Specialists, GP's and other health providers
  • Providing administrative assistance to Physiotherapists, Practice Manager and Owner
  • Stock control/maintenance
  • Administration and organisation of weekly classes.

The person we are looking for will have the following:

  • Proven ability to multi-task in a diverse and fast paced workplace with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous reception experience in a service based industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ACC and the service it provides an advantage as it an understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to read people and pre-empt their needs.
  • Accurate and efficient data processing capabilities whilst under pressure.
  • A high level of professional presentation, reliability and confidentiality
  • A medium level of computer literacy in Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exemplary organisational and time management skills
  • Experience with Gensolve Practice Manager operating system is an advantage but full training will be given.
  • A good level of physical ability as lifting and moving of physiotherapy equipment is required.
  • A positive can-do attitude and a good sense of humour

    The successful candidate must be able to work during school holidays and hold New Zealand Residency or Citizenship. This is a progressive role which involves significant learning, therefore we require someone able to give a long-term commitment to the position.
