LINZ is a diverse government agency that touches most New Zealanders. We do this by pursuing four outcomes: helping ensure geographic and property information contributes to better decision making; that New Zealanders continue to benefit from an up-to-date property rights system; that the Crown's land is put to best use; and that overseas ownership of sensitive assets is in New Zealand's best interests.

Current work to support these outcomes includes: developing a framework to improve Crown land decision making; supporting the implementation of policy changes to the Overseas Investment Act; ensuring that existing, and new, forms of property ownership support the needs of Maori and home owners; and creating the conditions for innovation by opening, and joining-up, data.
