The New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) is an independent, charitable organisation responsible for providing support and resources to enable New Zealand athletes to achieve at the highest levels of their sport and to excel at Olympic, Commonwealth and Youth Games. The NZOC is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) as the representative body in New Zealand responsible for developing, promoting and protecting the Olympic Movement in this country as well as having responsibility for the selection and organising of New Zealand teams to Olympic, Commonwealth and International Youth Games.

Reporting to the CFO, you'll be responsible for the provision of financial accounting services and administrative support to the NZOC. This is a varied role with key responsibilities including month end processing and reporting, fixed assets, GST, bank and credit card reconciliations, AR, AP, and managing foreign currency requirements for staff travelling overseas.Other interesting responsibilities include processing and tracking Olympic grant funding including the reconciliation of grants and fulfilling audit requirements. Preparing and completing financial reports, managing projects and general office administrative support such as managing office supplies, providing general office assistance, mail and answering the phone, make up other important aspects of this role.

To secure this position you'll need a CV that clearly demonstrates you have New Zealand experience gained in a similar styled role. Proven experience with trial balances, balance sheets, month end procedures, auditing, GST and bank reconciliations is required. You'll need strong Excel skills. Preference will be given to candidates that have previously used Xero and who are tertiary qualified. The Assistant Accountant is expected to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of organizations and individuals, so you'll need a reputation for being an outstanding communicator who delights people at every touchpoint.
