Financial Assistant, Kick off 2018 with a new job, National company with career prospects.

The Opportunity
As the Finance Assistant, you will be working closely with the Finance Manager and will provide you with a platform to utilise all of your accounting skills as you will be involved in everything, from the more transactional duties such as Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll through to preparing Monthly Financial Statements and assisting with the Balance Sheet Reconciliation work, offering you daily variety.
With this role now having sign off, they are keen to get the recruitment process started and completed for a new start in January 2018.

A well-established and growing professional services firm who service a diverse range of clients throughout Canterbury and the wider South Island.
The Role
In this role, you will work with the Finance Manager and the wider accounting team and your duties will include;
  • Preparing monthly financial statements
  • Monthly general ledger journals and accruals
  • Manage accounts payable/receivables and bank statement reconciliations
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the fixed asset ledger and management reporting
  • Preparation of year end accounts
  • Prepare and pay assigned payrolls
  • Assist the accounts team with any other duties as required

Your Profile
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and relationship building experience
  • Work well as part of a team and be able to work individually as required
  • Have a great attention to detail and a good knowledge of systems & MS Office
