Our client provides tailored engineering solutions to a broad range of New Zealand manufacturers in the design and build of innovative, automated production systems, often incorporating advanced robotics. As a result they are recognized as leaders in industrial automation, delivering sophisticated and diverse solutions in automation.

The role of Business Support Manager has been created to work closely with the Managing Director, providing direct support for the sales and business development activities while also supporting the engineering team and taking responsibility for a range of other business support functions. The primary emphasis of the role is to leverage the engineers and support the team, so they can focus on delivering to client projects. Other areas of responsibility will include some marketing activities; HR administration; development of business systems; providing support to the finance function; looking after the property management and generally ensuring the office operates efficiently. Additional challenges will come in the form of projects, especially as the business continues to grow and develop.

We ideally see this role suiting a person who can offer a proven range of management experience and skills in areas such as communications, sales support, financial & business administration, human resources, business systems and people leadership. While potential candidates may have more specialist skills in some of these key areas we are not limited in our thinking about a preferred candidate and so are willing to look at all options. So if you are highly organised and proactive in your approach, have the skills and experience to lead and manage, are technology savvy, without necessarily being a specialist, and think you will enjoy the challenges of balancing the business support needs against the team's focus on delivering to the client engineering project requirements, then this role will appeal.
