Team Leader Position, Full Time Permanent Role, Varied project work.

Orbit Groups & Events are one of New Zealand's premier groups and events specialists. With 7 offices around the country, and a central Wellington office with a team of 15, we manage groups and events of all budgets and sizes, around New Zealand, Australia, and around the world. Group travel and event Management it's what we live and breathe!

The groups and Events team is a highly successful team who has experienced significant growth over the recent years.

We are looking for an experienced travel consultant to be our new team leader who will assist twelve Consultants who work on a variety of events, conferences and group travel bookings for domestic travel.

The focus of this role is to be the go to person in the team, manage daily workflow and manage multiple projects across the team to ensure they are delivered to our clients seamlessly.

We are looking for a team player to work collaboratively with the consultants to provide excellent travel plans to our clients.

This is a busy role where no two days are the same. You will thrive working in a busy environment, juggling priorities and meeting deadlines while following necessary processes and contribute to ongoing develop of these processes and procedures.

This role will include:

  • Working with our preferred travel providers to research best deals for our clients
  • Preparing and assisting with quotes
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Assisting finance with accounting queries relating to the Groups & events travel

You will be dynamic, motivated and share the company's commitment to delivery outstanding customer service every time.

To be considered for this role you must have the following attributes:

  • At least 2 years proven experience as a travel consultant
  • Intermediate level experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be detailed oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Highly organised and have the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines as required
  • Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The successful candidate will have excellent relationship management skills, be confident and enjoy engaging with clients both over the phone and assisting at their events.
