The Company:

Water quality in New Zealand is under pressure as land use intensifies and population increases. Our client is a water systems specialist and a leader in water quality. Utilising their water quality expertise, they design specific industrial and municipal treatment solutions. The company covers the full range of water transfer and treatment technologies including irrigation, conditioning, filtration and sterilisation together with water transfer and pumpsets.

The company vision is to create top quality water supplies and theywishto employ people who share their values and vision. Currently in expansion mode they are looking to employ an astute Process Engineer with sales experience and leadership qualities seeking a challenging role offering excellent long term opportunities.

The Role:

Key responsibilities include the development of long term relationships and new business with Councils, Municipals, Design Engineers and Project Engineering firms together with preparing bids for RFQs and Tenders for commercial pumping and water transfer project. Other responsibilities will include managing the Technical Services team which incorporates customer services and the field service team requiring system development.

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of the principles of process or chemical engineering and will be comfortable managing projects, design and quoting for new business and leading change within a team with a focus on professional development.

The Criteria:

The successful candidate will ideally have a tertiary qualification in Process, Chemical or Environmental engineering. Their experience will include project management and business development preferably with established relationships within the target market. They will now be looking to extend themselves into a role that includes building a Technical Services team and building on their own Commercial Management skills.

In addition we are seeking the following:

  • An expert relationship developer, with commercial acumen together with an ability to support the business strategically.
  • Sound leadership skills with the ability to set standards and build capability.
  • Excellent project management skills together with a good level of knowledge in project specification and preparing and presenting tender documentation.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Sound planning and prioritisation capabilities.
