The Client

Currently operating in New Zealand, Australia & the UK this retail/manufacturing organisation is one of the largest within their specialisation. They currently ship their product to over 30 countries globally & offer their services to multi-national companies, SMEs & government organisations

The Role

As a member of the NZ leadership team, with responsibility for financial reporting & commercial, the primary focus of this role is to provide insights through analysis & reporting, acting as a change agent to improve profitability, setting long term strategies to ensure sustainable profitability, coupled with strengthening of governance framework & providing leadership across the business.

Some of the key responsibilities, but not limited to, are as follows;

  • Head of NZ Finance
  • Completing analysis & providing insights on key drivers of financial performance
  • Identify profit improvement opportunities through partnering with business stakeholders
  • Influence change, from a sales, product, marketing or operations perspective
  • Develop the long term strategic plan, providing a platform for sustainable profit
  • Improve commercial acumen across the business
  • Lead & mentor a direct team of 2 (both CA qualified accountants)

You, the Ideal Candidate

In order for you to be considered for this role, you will not only need the necessary experience but also possess certain interpersonal attributes to help you fit in with the company's culture & share their vision. Some examples of these would be;

  • CA, CPA or equivalent
  • Naturally commercially astute with an operational focus to your skill set/experience
  • A change agent who can lead people and drive a company's culture
  • A people leader, experience in directly managing other senior colleagues
  • Experience with senior stakeholder engagement, comfortable with advising & challenging
  • Effortlessly build strong professional relationships at all levels within the business.
  • The ability not just to fully understand the high-level &detailed concepts, but the ability to explain this in a story which can be understood with ease.
  • Advance Excel user
